]]>In January, 2015, Guru Gobind Singh Foundation launched an exciting project for the benefit of the community to build a facility which would be called Chaar Sahibzade Niwas. By naming this building after Chaar Sahibzade, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Foundation, it will be a great reminder for all of us to focus our energy towards the younger generation. This is perhaps the first facility in North America dedicated to the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh ji who sacrificed their lives at the very young age protecting Sikh principles. This facility will be home to sewadaars who would live adjacent to Gurdwara Sahib, will have multipurpose rooms and a hall to provide an appropriate learning environment for our younger generation, and also provide residence for guests.
In October 2005, with the blessing of the Guru and support of the Sangat of entire Metro Washington DC area, Guru Gobind Singh Foundation (GGSF) built a new building in Rockville MD to function as the Gurdwara Sahib . Since then, this Gurdwara Sahib’s building has been home to hundreds of Sangat members and the community. Over 100 Sikh children are learning Sikhi in Gurmat School at GGSF, in addition to learning kirtan and tabla. There are several other important initiatives run by GGSF which are fulfilling the needs of the community. Over the years our Sangat has increased and so have our needs.
Chaar Sahibzada Niwas has room dedicated to historical figures and our collective revered ancestors such as:
